They are cleanable and they must be dry before they can be used again.
After removing the plate from the machine customers recommend cleaning with one of the two of the following options: Always wear gloves and goggles when cleaning.
Option 1-Soak in a bowl of distilled white vinegar for 1 minute then brush with a tooth brush and rinse with warm water. Let air dry or use a blow dryer on a low heat setting. Must be completely dry before putting back into the unit.
Option 2-Soak in a bowl of 50/50 solution of ammonia and water for 1 minute then brush with a tooth brush and rinse with warm water. Let air dry or use a blow dryer on a low heat setting. Must be completely dry before putting back into the unit.
If the plate has not been cleaned in a while soak for a few minutes longer.
